PHILADELPHIA, PA, DECEMBER 12, 2021—Several paintings from Philadelphia’s artist, Misty Sol, will make their national debut this month as part of the set on NBC sitcom Grand Crew. Set in East Los Angeles, Grand Crew is a hangout comedy about a group of wine-loving, Black professional friends who get together and blow off steam.

Misty’s work will be hung as background pieces in several settings, adding a layer of Black aesthetic and cultural nuance. “I’m happy to see my art reach a wider audience with Grand Crew. Personally, I’m still excited to see Ernie Barnes paintings when I watch Good Times. Black art in TV and film is an important part of the cultural landscape.”-Misty Sol.

Grand Crew will premiere its first two back to back episodes on Tuesday, December 14th at 8p.m. and 8:30 p.m. as part of NBC’s special preview week. The series will return on January 4, 2022, in its regular time slot, Tuesdays at 8:30 p.m.

Proceeds from the sale of one of the featured paintings, Sea Glass #2, will aid in securing the legacy of a beloved Philadelphia institution Philadanco.  For more information visit:
